Queensberry of New Zealand – our Wedding Album Supplier

Queensberry Wedding Albums

Queensberry Wedding Albums

Our wedding albums are important to us.

We spent a lot of time looking at wedding albums before deciding on QB. We looked at every supplier from around the world. We didn’t actually have to go to New Zealand or Italy or America or Australia, that would have been nice, but through websites, trade shows and reps we were able to see them all.

Our mission was to find an album supplier that suited Corin Bishop Photography, that suited my style of photography and suited our clients. QB stood out way above the rest and they were clearly among the top wedding album suppliers in the world. The quality was fantastic it suited us perfectly.

Since setting up with QB we have be delighted with every aspect of their service. The finish, delivery time, customer service, range of customisation, printing… every aspect has remained excellent.

Each wedding album is custom made, by hand.

Each wedding album is unique. No two albums are the same.

Each wedding album is made with the best of materials.

To say we are happy with Queensberry is a very big understatement…

The video below gives you some insight into what ‘hand-made’ means…

I’ve been having problem embeding the video so if it doesn’t work below then Click here for video.

Kelly McAteer and Dessie Dolan Wedding

Kelly and Dessie Dolan get hitched at Castledaly Church then head back to the Hodson Bay Hotel (via Clonmacnoise).

What's so funny?Daddy's girl

This was my third Dolan family wedding…. first Gary then Susan and now Dessie…

The pressure was on…. why? Because I’m always conscious of not repeating myself too much. I like to do something different for each wedding. Do something that suits the Bride and Groom, not just do the same ole thang. I didn’t want to do what I did for Gary or Susan’s wedding.

Luckily both Kelly and Dessie had lots of ideas. They wanted to stop out at Clonmacnoise to get pictures. They even went out themselves before hand, took pictures and brought in a laptop when they met me!!! It helped of course, it’s great when you get some ideas from clients it means you can take them down a direction you know is going to suit them.

Gorgeous!Chillin at ClonmacnoiseFashion shoot?

It was a big wedding so I had some help from a friend, Laura Leonard from Priory Weddings, it mean’t I could cover a little more of the day including getting pictures of the lads getting ready (which I rarely get). We could get a few shot’s from multiple angles which worked well in the end product.

Back of the Dress

Lastly a quick note about the Makup… I was impressed with the make-up done for Kelly. Jessamy O’Dwyer did an excellent job. She can be reach at www.jessamyodwyer.net

Nice Makeup!

All in all, a great day…

Kevin & Siobhán’s Wedding at the Wineport

Kevin & Siobhán tie the knot outdoors at the Wineport Lodge

Dermody Cahill Wedding

Location Location Location

I’ve photographed a couple of weddings with an ‘outdoor’ theme. The last time I photographed an ‘outdoor’ wedding was back in 2005 and it was at the Station House near Trim. They were lucky with the weather but unlucky with the Cows… which trampled the venue the night before….

This time around the wedding was at my ‘local’ and favourite wedding reception venue, the Wineport Lodge, Glasson, Athlone.

Siobhan was getting ready at a B&B over the road (… sorry, over the LAKE…) and she would be getting the venue by boat.

Mirror MirrorThe dress

Weather… well, I was worried. The weather was to be bad. Actually bad was an understatement. It was due to pour and pour and pour…. For an outdoor wedding this is usually a bad thing… So we all kept a close eye on it! I would say there was either a lot of praying, a lot of luck or a whole bunch of  Child Of Praigue’s – actually probably all three had a say in the day… because… the rain arrived the 4am that morning along with thunder, lightning (v.v.frighting, oooh Gallileo… sorry, getting carried away)!! Anyway.. All clear for the wedding!!! Phew, that was close.

Daughter/Daddy moment

This was a very intimate wedding. More to the point it seemed to me to be a very appropriate wedding for this couple. A small number of close family and friends and the actual ceremony was in the Gazebo at the Wineport. It contained around 20 family members, a string quartet, one of the video guys, bride/groom, me, priest. The rest of the family/friends were just outside. The couple also did something something really nice and quite unusual. They wrote their own vows. Kevin wrote his own vows to Siobhán and Siobhán wrote her own vows to Kevin. To make it extra speacial they didn’t tell each other what they wrote until it was time to exchange them.

The SpeechLaughs

It was very romantic, very personal and very emotional. Everyone was crying. Do you know how hard it is to take photographs when you’re eyes are full of water? (ok if you’re an underwater photographer you do but I wasn’t under water). I thought I was a bit of a sap but then I caught the best man crying too so I didn’t feel so bad.

Emotion

When the cermony was ended the couple walked straight out of the gazebo an there was the reception! Cool!

All done! Party!Funny

Other cool stuff. Kevin’s sister made an empty frame derocated with Congratualtions and flowers and stuff. She then went around all the guests getting them to hold up the frame in front of their faces and took a picture! Brill idea! I used it to take a family photo too!

More cool stuff… the video… This was my first time work with Danny and Danny from Smartvideo.ie . Total pleasure to work with. Ultimate professionals. What’s more is they were shooting a totally different style from other video’s I’d seen. Very artistic, very cinematic. Lots of nice smooth panning, close ups and arty stuff.

A clip from their video can be seen here www.smartvideo.ie. Check out the rest of their demo clips too… lovely stuff.

I always enjoy photographing weddings, I’ll give it up when I don’t. This one left me that little bit happier…

I hope you like the pictures..

Louise and Rob McKune’s Wedding – Spidal and The Twelve Hotel Barna

Louise Moriarty and Rob McKune get hitched in Spidal Church, Co. Galway

That tickles!

The weather the week leading up to this wedding had been pretty yuk. I continually looking at the forecast hoping it would turn out ok. On the morning of the wedding the forecast was for rain! You have a look at the pictures and see if you can see any rain….

Not a drop of rain went anywhere near this wedding. Quite the contrary, it was roasting. I didn’t bother bringing sun factor with me and got sunburn! I also started questioning my wedding ‘uniform’ ..which is black!.. phew it was hot.

Top Hat

Anyway, it was a great day. Everyone was a pleasure to deal with and the Groom, Rob, was a great laugh. I have a photo of his family outside the church before the wedding and I took it before they were ready. Nothing but messers! Rob’s parents were just as much fun so I can see where Rob got his sense of humour!

More laughs

One the subject of parents… Louise’s dad freaked me out a little… When we met he said, with smile,  “I know who you are”. “You and your wife used to travel back from Holland, where you living”. “You would visit your sister-in-law at the cottage and go drinking in the Mill pub”…

Eh? We were lived in Holland almost 10 years ago. The ‘cottage’ was in the middle of the countryside next to a field of sheep. Maybe the sheep had told him?… no, it turned out he lived across from my sister-in-law, he knew my wife’s family and also had a good memory! Small world…..

Jimmy Choo Shoes!

I’m rambling on now…

We had a great time afterwards. Quick visit to the harbour in Spidal then on to the beech.

Cute!

Louise wanted to do the ‘walking in a line’ shot so we did, then we did the same thing again but walking like robots. Bit of jumping and messing around then we were back to the Twelve Hotel in Barna.

Ok... everyone walk like robots!1,2,3... Jump!

The Twelve is a ‘chiq/boutique’ hotel in Barna (correct name Bearna – just depends who’s writing the article or which road sign you look at!). It’s relatively new and very snazz. I’ve actually stayed there and the rooms, food and service are first class.

Weddings there are usually intimate affairs as they don’t have huge capacity (but you’d be surprised how many they can accommodate). Anyway… I like it…

Many Thanks to Louise and Rob…

Happy Couple

The Wedding of Angela Maquire and John Sisk

Angela and John’s Wedding

Angela and John Sisk Wedding - Names

This wedding booking was at quite short notice. The wedding was on the first of may this year – I can’t remeber when exactly they booked but it could have be somewhere around March!

I had only met the couple once previously a few weeks before to go through the day so it was a little difficult to gauge what they would be like on the day (normally I would meet the couple a few times before hand). They were great to work with so no worries there!

I arrived at Angela’s parent’s house and was shown around and introduced. Before long Angela’s mum had me sat down with a cup of tea and ham sandwiches! It was a good job I was a little hungry after the journey up as she didn’t give me a lot of choice on the tea/sandwiches – thanks Mrs Doyle!

Angela and John Sisk Wedding - The Dress

The church was right beside the parents house so it mean’t the timing was a little more relaxed. Everything at the house ran smoothly. I got some lovely shots of the dress hanging up and then used the same place for shot with the bride in the dress.

Angela and John Sisk Wedding - In the Dress

Rain threatened all day but manged to avoid the church both before and after the ceremony. However, on the journey up to Lough Rynn Castle the heavens opened! Some of the heaviest rain I’d seen so far this year! When the couple arrived at the hotel it was hammering down. I was planning all my shots inside the hotel, getting everything ready for indoors. But…. around 20 minutes after they arrived the rain stopped, the sun came out and blue sky was to be seen! It was the most amazing turn-around. We were able to get out and take all the family shots outdoors, all the couple shots out doors…. In fact it was almost as if it never rained at all!

A quick word about Lough Rynn Castle – a photographers point of view.

I’ve done a few weddings at Lough Rynn. I look forward to it each time because it is such a wonderful venue. It has pretty much everything. The way the old castle and the new hotel are brought together is fantastic. It’s a smooth transition from old to new as you walk through the hotel to the function room – beautifully done. There are loads of places to take photographs indoors.

Then there is the outside. The front of the hotel is gorgeous backdrop for photographs. Turn around and you have a view of the lake and gardens. The best bit though is the Walled Gardens. There are three levels of walled gardens, each with their own individual settings. Beautifully maintained and simply brill for photographs. I could spend hours taking photographs there, the options are endless, especially when the flowers are in bloom. The flowers weren’t all out in May but there were still lots of options.

Anyway, here are a few pics for you to have a look at… and thanks Angela and John, you were brill.

The Wedding of Tara and Kevin

The Wedding of Tara and Kevin. The Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon. 9th April 2010

photography by Corin Bishop

treacydavis20031_0122

I’m quite lucky really. My type of photography tends to get me a certain kind of client. Easy going, relaxed and generally nice people to work with. Tara and Kevin were exactly this and I really enjoyed photographing their wedding.

The church wasn’t great for photo’s outside so we stopped off in Dromod while on the way to the Landmark Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon. A few quick family photo’s etc. and we were back on the road.

treacydavis20031_0911

At the Landmark we had plenty of time so there was no real pressure timewise and this made it very relaxed. The staff were very organised and nothing was too much trouble for them.

The Landmark had a huge picture of a jetty wallpapered in the bar and it made for a really cool backdrop. They also had a nice area upstairs in the bar with boutique decor and lovelly light coming through the windows.

All round it was a great day!

The Wedding of Colm & Tracy – Sheraton Athlone

Colm & Tracy’s Wedding at the Sheraton Hotel, Athlone – photography by Corin Bishop

byrnemoore1368

I was a little nervous before this wedding… Why?.. Well it was my first in the Sheraton Athlone. I didn’t know what to expect there and how it would work out.

I need not have worried. The presidential suite at the top has fab views and fab light all day. The garden area is sheltered and has gorgeous lights. Lastly th…e corridor between levels is the best and I took my favourite photo’s of the day there.

byrnemoore1434

As for the couple… Well they are the nicest possible people. They have a daughter who they are MAD ABOUT! She was included in everything they did all day (except Sean’s Bar!) and it was a pleasure to photograph such a happy family.

Jane & Enda’s Wedding

Jane and Enda’s Wedding, 27th March 2010, The Heritage – Killenard

Enda & Jane The Couch!

Forgive me followers for I have not posted a wedding in ages!

Anyway… time to update…..

I had the great pleasure to photograph Jane and Enda on the 27th of March. I had already done their engagement shoot so I knew them a little before the big day itself. However….

I didn’t realise how much the Carragher family were into their photography…! Every bit of wall space in their house was taken up with family photographs. These were people who were clearly into photo’s and mad about their kids!

Of all the photographs, taking pride of place on the kitchen table, was a picture from their engagement shoot that I had taken. I felt very proud!

All during the day the couple knew exactly what needed to be done for photographs. Jane told me recently that she had wanted to get a picture on the Chez Long as she had a seen a nice wedding photograph that used one. However the Chez Long was in need to some TLC so Jane’s mum was told she had 7 months to get it fixed up!

Anway, I had a lovely day and Enda & Jane were a pleasure to work with.

Enjoy the photographs…..

Shane and Edel Winter Wedding 2009

Shane and Edel got married on the 11th of December 2009 in St. Peters Church, Athlone.

The weather was fantastic for a winter in Ireland – crisp, clear and not too cold! The bride did have an antique fur coat to keep her warm though. The bridemaids didn’t have that luxury so a few hot brandy’s were called for!

We had the opportunity to take some picture in the castle in Athlone (over the road from Church) and we got some lovely pictures in there.

Edel’s dress, veiled head piece and coat was a great combination of classic and modern all in one and worked really well together…

Anway… see for yourself……

McCarron Ward Wedding

Niall and Karen Wedding – Wineport Lodge Glasson

I always love to do wedding at the Wineport. Not only is it my ‘local’ but I always find that weddings there are always relaxed and good fun.

Niall and Karen’s wedding was no exception. Everyone was getting ready in the Wineport so I was there around 2 hours before. Every thing was under control, no panics, no mad rush. I got my initial details shots done really quickly and even had time to pop out to see the groomsmen leave the Wineport before going to the the pub.

The local Church, Drumraney, was the host for the ceremony and was done out really well with lots of little candles all over the altar area.

The party then headed back to the Wineport where everyone got out of the breeze and enjoyed the wonderful Wineport hospitality.

The bride and groom braved the cool breeze and went out on the jetty. We got a few more shots in and around the grounds. Again, very relaxed couple!

A few more shots of the guests and family and it was done.

Fab day..
