BRIO Little Forest Train Set Review by Nicola Bishop

I was delighted to be chosen by www.woodentoyshop.co.uk to review the BRIO Little Forest Train Set. Wooden toys are a fantastic investment, and stand the test of time. The BRIO Little Forest Train set is  a great little starter set for children, it is small and compact, so its easily packed up to bring with you.

The set contains 8 double sided curved pieces of track & 2 straight pieces to make an oval shape. It also contains the main train with a magnetic carriage which can carrry the detachable logs. Oh, and there are two green trees! It is really well made, sturdy and easy to put together for little fingers.

My 3.5 year old boy Alex was the ‘official’ tester of the train set. Alex really got into the testing, with a little help from Dylan his 8 month old brother, who was mainly interested in tasting the trees! It was lovely to hear Alex making up stories as he played with it. He spent ages mulling over the catalogue of accessories that BRIO make. He also modelled the accessories brochure - he really took the testing seriously!

We have a photography studio in town, so we brought the train set in to the studio for other children to play with. It as a big hit, not only with the children but with the adults too! It was amazing to see how many parents fondly remembered having one of these BRIO train sets as a kid.

Brio have a fantastic selection of add-on sets, which means the BRIO starter set can grow with your child. Alex gave the BRIO train set a big thumbs up – and is putting a request on his letter to Santa for some more.
